Crafted for Life’s Moments: The Heart Behind My Island Life

Crafted for Life’s Moments: The Heart Behind My Island Life

When I first started My Island Life, it wasn’t just about making products. It was about celebrating the big and small moments that make up our lives—birthdays, weddings, new homes, rainy summer days, and even quiet mornings with a favorite book. Every piece I design is created with the idea that it should hold meaning, spark joy, or become part of a memory.

Living on Prudence Island, inspiration is everywhere. From the lighthouse standing strong against the bay to the osprey circling above, island life has taught me that the little details matter. That’s the same approach I take in the studio. Whether it’s engraving a cutting board with a handwritten recipe, designing a keepsake ornament, or creating a playful Color Me kit for kids, each piece is made to connect with life’s real, lasting moments.

What makes My Island Life unique isn’t just the products—it’s the process. In my studio, I use four different lasers, a 3D printer, and soon a UV printer. Each tool has its own personality (yes, my lasers even have names!) and allows me to bring different ideas to life. I’ve built my space not only to create, but also to share—through workshops, parties, and collaborations with our local community.

Most importantly, I believe that gifts should feel personal. That’s why I use words like personalized instead of custom. Every engraving, every detail, is meant to celebrate the story of the person receiving it.

This blog is where I’ll share more of that story—the behind-the-scenes of the studio, island inspiration, gift ideas, and new creations. I hope you’ll join me here and be part of the journey.
